Retail Security Across Ireland

Shop staff should be able to do their jobs without confronting thieves or putting up with abuse. A trained, visible security officer changes how a shop feels for staff and for customers.

Security for Retail & Shopping

Theft is only part of the problem for retailers. Staff are increasingly faced with aggression and threats when they challenge somebody, and many shops now tell employees not to intervene at all. A uniformed officer at the door takes that burden away. Most people who intend to steal choose a different shop when they see one.

Our retail officers are there to prevent incidents, not to chase people down the street. They greet customers, stay visible, watch for known patterns of theft, work with your CCTV and step in early when a situation with a customer starts to turn. When something does happen, they record it properly so that it can be reported to the Gardaí.

Behind the shop floor, we secure the rest of the business too: cameras on tills, stock rooms and delivery doors, key holding so that the manager is not called out at night, and alarm response when the shutters are down.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can a security guard detain a shoplifter?
A security officer has no more power than any other member of the public, so we train officers to deter and prevent theft and to detain only where the law clearly allows it and it is safe. In most cases the right response is to prevent the theft, record the details and report it to the Gardaí.
Can I book officers just for busy periods?
Yes. Many shops add security for Christmas, sales and late opening, or for particular days of the week.
Do your officers work with our existing CCTV?
Yes. Officers can monitor your cameras on site and help you retrieve footage after an incident.
Do retail security officers need a licence?
Yes. Anyone guarding a shop as a contractor needs a current licence from the Private Security Authority, and all our officers hold one.
Do you cover shopping centres as well as single shops?
Yes. We provide officers for individual shops and for shared areas such as malls, car parks and service yards.
