Construction Site Security Across Ireland

Building sites are open, changing and full of things worth stealing. We control the gate while the site is working and protect it when everybody has gone home.

Security for Construction Sites

A construction site is hard to secure because it changes every week. Fencing moves, new openings appear, and expensive plant, tools, cable, copper and fuel sit in the open. Theft and vandalism do not only cost the price of what is taken: a stolen excavator or a stripped cable run can stop the programme for days.

During working hours, a gate officer keeps a record of everyone and everything that enters and leaves: operatives, visitors, deliveries and vehicles. That protects the site and also supports your own duty to know who is on it. At night, at weekends and over the builders' holidays, the choice is between a guard on site, mobile patrol visits at varied times, monitored CCTV, or a mix of them. The right answer depends on the stage of the build and what is exposed.

There is a public safety side as well. An unsecured site is a danger to children and trespassers, and the contractor is the one held responsible. Our officers check hoarding and fencing on every patrol and report gaps before somebody finds them.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need a guard on site all night?
Not always. In the early stages, with plant and materials in the open, a night guard is often justified. Later, when the building can be locked, patrols and monitored CCTV may be enough. We will advise for each phase.
What does a gate officer do?
They control the site entrance: checking who comes in, signing in visitors and deliveries, recording vehicles, keeping the public out and making sure the gate is never left open.
Can you cover the Christmas and summer shutdowns?
Yes. Shutdowns are when sites are most exposed. We can provide guards, patrols or monitored cameras for the full period.
Can security start at short notice after a theft?
Often, yes. Phone us and we will tell you how quickly we can have an officer or patrols in place.
Are your site security officers licensed?
Yes. Every officer holds a current PSA licence, which is a legal requirement for guarding a construction site.
