Event Security in Dublin

Licensed event security staff for concerts, festivals, sporting fixtures, conferences, corporate events and private functions in Dublin, planned with you well before the doors open.

Event Security Dublin: how we work

Dublin hosts events of every size, from private parties in hotels to conferences, sporting fixtures, festivals and concerts. Each needs security planned around the venue, the audience and the programme, and every person carrying out security work at an event must hold a PSA licence for event security.

We start with the event plan and the venue. We look at entrances and exits, queues, ticket and wristband checks, bag searches, stage and backstage areas, bars, and how people will leave at the end. From that we agree the number of security staff, where each one is positioned and what they do, and how we work with your stewards, venue staff and medical team.

Under the PSA's event security standard, the minimum is generally one security staff member for every 250 people in seated areas and one for every 100 elsewhere, unless a risk assessment justifies something different. Stewards, who are not licensed, can help with directions and tickets but cannot search people, refuse entry or remove anyone, so they do not count towards those numbers.

On the day, our team manages access, searches, crowd flow and incidents, and stays in contact with you throughout. Afterwards you receive a report of anything that happened.

Frequently Asked Questions

What kinds of events do you cover in Dublin?
Concerts, festivals, sporting fixtures, conferences, exhibitions, corporate events, product launches and private functions, in venues, hotels and outdoor spaces.
How many security staff will my event need?
The PSA's event security standard sets a general minimum of one security staff member per 250 people in seated areas and one per 100 elsewhere, unless a risk assessment justifies a different number. We will work out the right number for your event and venue.
Can our stewards do security work?
No. Stewards are not licensed and must not carry out security tasks such as searching, refusing entry or removing people. They also cannot be counted in the security numbers.
How far in advance should we book?
As early as possible, especially for large events or dates when several events are running in Dublin at the same time. Contact us when your date is confirmed.
Are your event security staff licensed?
Yes. Everyone we provide for event security work holds a PSA licence that covers event security.
