Dublin has more construction under way than anywhere else in the country, and much of it is housing and mixed-use development in places like Clonburris, Adamstown, Cherrywood, the Docklands and across Fingal. Sites like these change week by week and hold exactly what thieves look for: plant, fuel, tools, cable and copper.

During working hours, a gate officer controls the entrance: signing in operatives and visitors, checking deliveries against bookings, recording vehicles and keeping the public away from the works. That protects the site and gives you an accurate record of who was on it.

Out of hours, the right cover depends on the stage of the build. Early on, with plant and materials in the open, a night guard is often justified. Once the structure can be locked, mobile patrols at varied times and monitored cameras may be enough. We plan each phase with you and change the cover as the site changes, including for the builders' holidays and the Christmas shutdown.

City centre sites bring their own issues: tight hoarding against busy footpaths, deliveries through narrow streets and a public who pass at every hour. Our officers check hoarding and gates on every round and report gaps before somebody else finds them.
