Event Security Services Across Ireland

Licensed event security staff, planned around your venue, audience and programme, working alongside your stewards, venue team and medical cover.

Security planned before the doors open

Good event security is mostly done before the event. We start with your plan and the venue: how many people are expected and who they are, where they will queue, how tickets and bags will be checked, where the pinch points are, and how everyone will leave at the end. From that we agree the number of security staff, their positions and their duties.

In Ireland, anyone carrying out security work at an event must hold a PSA licence for event security, and so must the company that supplies them. Stewards can direct people, check tickets and keep exits clear, but they cannot search, refuse entry or remove anyone, and they do not count towards the security numbers. Organisers are also expected to check the licences of the security they hire.

On the day, our team manages entrances, searches, crowd movement, restricted areas and incidents, in contact with you and the venue throughout. Afterwards you get a written report of anything that happened.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does event security need a licence in Ireland?
Yes. Since November 2022 everyone carrying out security work at an event must hold a PSA licence for event security, and the contractor supplying them must be licensed too. It is an offence for an organiser to engage an unlicensed contractor.
How many security staff does an event need?
The PSA event security standard sets a general minimum of one security staff member for every 250 people in seated areas and one for every 100 in other areas, unless a risk assessment justifies a different number. We work out the right number for your event.
What is the difference between a steward and security?
Stewards help with directions, tickets and keeping exits clear. They are not licensed and must not search people, refuse entry or remove anyone. Those are security tasks for licensed staff.
Do you do small private events?
Yes. We provide security for private parties, weddings and corporate functions as well as larger public events.
How far in advance should we book?
As early as possible. Licensed event staff are in high demand on busy weekends and when several large events run at once.
