Alarm Response in Dublin

When the alarm at your Dublin premises activates, a licensed officer goes instead of you: checks the building, deals with what they find, resets the alarm and locks up.

Alarm Response Dublin: how we work

Most business alarms in Dublin activate when nobody is there: at night, at weekends and over bank holidays. Somebody then has to go and look. If that somebody is a manager or owner, they are driving across the city to go into a dark building alone, not knowing whether it is a faulty sensor or a break-in in progress.

With alarm response, a licensed security officer goes instead. When your alarm company or monitoring centre reports an activation, our control room sends an officer with your keys. They check the outside first, then the inside if it is safe, find the cause, reset the alarm and lock up. If there has been a break-in, they call the Gardaí, wait with the premises and help arrange a locksmith or boarding-up so the building is not left open overnight.

Having a key holder who always attends also matters for Garda response. Under the Garda policy on monitored alarms, a key holder is expected to attend so the premises can be checked properly, and a key holder who fails to turn up counts against the alarm. Repeated false alarms can lead to Garda response being withdrawn, so after every activation we tell you what caused it and whether the system needs attention.

We respond to alarms across Dublin city and county. How quickly an officer arrives depends on where your premises is and the time of day, so we will give you a realistic expectation for your address before you sign up.

Frequently Asked Questions

What happens when my alarm goes off in Dublin?
Your monitoring centre contacts our control room, which sends a licensed officer with your keys. The officer checks the premises, finds the cause, resets the alarm and locks up, calling the Gardaí if there are signs of a break-in.
How fast will an officer arrive?
It depends on where your premises is in Dublin and the time of day, so we do not publish a single figure. We will tell you what to expect for your address before you start.
Do I need key holding as well?
In almost every case, yes. Without keys and codes an officer can only check the outside of the building. Alarm response and key holding are normally set up together.
Will you tell me why the alarm went off?
Yes. You receive a written report after every call-out, including the cause where it can be found, so faults can be fixed before they lead to more false alarms.
